This is a different kind of rope event. We‘ve had many workshops with international, mostly japanese top riggers here over the previous years, but for a while I feel there is a lot of interesting rope work happening in Europe, with many individuals developing their own approach. A sort of emancipation from the japanese masters is happening, not a rebellion or opposition, but just people recognizing the importance of gaining autonomity in their artistic process. So the idea came up to bring some experienced European Riggers together for a week of exchange and research. There will be about seven „presenters“ invited who will share their work on a voluntary basis. They are advanced riggers who have developed a personal style beyond japanese tradition, who are interested to learn and exchange with others and who wish to experiment with less hierarchical and dogmatic teaching structures. They will be joined by a group of selected „students“, intermediate/ advanced riggers interested to learn from the professionals present and paying a modest fee in order to finance the project. The schedule will be open. Every day in the morning a new plan for the day will be established with several workshops, research groups etc. running simultaneously, thus covering a wide range of topics and issues. The content of the event will be designed according to the interests and needs of the participants rather then following a preconceived didactic concept or method. Every presenter invited is free to teach as much or as little as he or she likes. Schedule: Monday to Friday 10 00 - 13 00 workshops 15 00 - 18 00 workshops 20 00 - 22 00 open jam Saturday 10 00 - 13 00 workshops 15 00 - 18 00 workshops 20 00 EURIX 2016 Final Bondage & Performance Party The party is open for all / Non EURIX guests pay 12 EUR To take part as a „student“ please apply with some information about your experience and some samples of your work. |
