Rope has risks! Rope bondage can be classed as ‘edge play’ – edge play meaning a type of activity with risks that could leave persons with lasting/permanent damage, or at worst cause death. Yet we still choose to play with it – and we can! With awareness, understanding of the risks, and practical steps to mitigate them… want to know more? In this two-part series, we will go in-depth to explore rope safety – to answer these questions about how you can ‘play safer’ whilst ultimately understanding and naming that rope is never fully safe. This two-part series will be broken down to cover what people tying and being tied need to know about the physical and psychological needs to mitigate risks.
