(After)Care Workshop: Nurturing Ourselves and Each Other Join us for a workshop dedicated to building essential (after)care skills. Together, we'll explore how our care needs can vary depending on context and the ways we play, whether that involves sadism, masochism, domination, or submission. How can we practice self-care when we play in ways that push our bodies and minds? What strategies can help if we feel overwhelmed after a session? How can we engage with our community for (after)care support? We will examine our capabilities and needs for aftercare with our play partners and practice ways to negotiate these needs using principles of consent and clear communication. Additionally, we’ll explore how to manage emotional drops after extended events, where we may deal with the accumulation of intense experiences, as well as the return to normative society after being immersed in a community bubble. This workshop combines presentations, discussion, paired exercises and skillshare to expand your (after)care toolkit. All experience levels are welcome. The workshop will be held in English. Passionate about education, skill-sharing, and the power of community, she enjoys facilitating workshops to share her excitement, research, expertise and experience. The Basement Lab The Basement Lab is a series of workshops and skillshares that bring people together in a relaxed setting. It’s where perverted creativity meets connection and experience, where the community is offered a moment to gather to share knowledge, ideas and inspiration. The intimate, laid-back atmosphere is to foster a space for exploration and self-expression that offers something different than a party or a conference. This series aims to expand and deepen your skills in both the practical and the psychological aspects of BDSM. This is purely for the queer bdsm and leather community. Queer here means aligned with the queer community and either not cis-gender, or not straight. About the Organizer The Basement Lab is a concept dreamed up and organized by Synchro. Synchro has been an active part of the queer bdsm community for 10+ years. They have organized a range of events, from queer porn screenings to munches, workshops and play parties. They are driven by creating community spaces for queer perverted minds to meet and be filthy together. Schedule: Arrival: 17:40-18:00 Workshop: 18-20:30 (incl. break) Optional: stay afterwards for communal dinner. Bring your own food, microwave available.
