“Heart of Service” workshop 150kr RSVP by January 28th for directions What does it mean to “serve”, or to “be of service”? Where does service come from and who is being served? Can service be forced on demand? The Heart of Service class explores these questions through open discussion of our impulses to serve and to demand service, the philosophy behind these and the very real practical issues, delights and challenges that arise. All of this will be useful to those curious about the subject, those who might play with or dabble with it already, and those who have formed a full time relationship to the subject. The intent is for participants to explore a deeper understanding of service, and provide discussion and inspiration that you can apply to your own relationships whether as tops, bottoms, slaves, submissives, Masters, or you. The workshop leaders draw from their years of experience, as a Mistress and owner and a slave and maid as well as being active BDSM community members. Though they present examples from a female and trans experience, the discussion applies to all roles and orientations interested in service. This is not a class about how to get laid. It is a class that looks at the power exchange (Dominant and submissive) relationship within the context of love and devotion. That can be a person or an ideal. During the workshop we will discuss how we come to service, and how we practice it in real life. There will also be time to continue our conversations with informal discussion during the break and after class as well as of course within the formal workshop discussion. Snacks are provided, but you are welcome to bring refreshments of choice. This is the first series of classes focuses on the development of submission within the context of relationship taught by Madam W and j (josephine). This series is presented by The Academy, a group of BDSM lifestyle community members dedicated to education. The series will continue throughout 2013 with classes presented by various experienced instructors on a variety of topics. |
